How to Create a Song with AI
Follow the "Concept-to-Creation" method to turn any document into a complete song using tools like ChatGPT and Suno.
Step 1: Ideation & Lyrical Drafting
First, turn your core ideas into compelling song lyrics using a large language model (LLM) like ChatGPT or Gemini. An LLM is perfect for this because it can summarize, rhyme, and structure text creatively. Your goal is to transform a body of text (like a presentation or article) into song lyrics that fit a specific style.
The key is to craft a specific prompt. Be clear about the style, structure, and tone you want.
Prompt Example: "I have a presentation on [Your Topic]. Please read this material and summarize the key takeaways. Then, turn those takeaways into a song with lyrics suitable for a hip-hop Broadway showstopper in the style of the musical Hamilton. The song should have a verse, a chorus, a second verse, a bridge, and a final chorus. Add bracketed tags like [Verse] and [Chorus] for each section."
Read the lyrics the AI provides and make edits to add your unique voice and make them more impactful.
Step 2: Musical Generation
Now that you have your lyrics, it's time to bring them to life with music and vocals using an AI music generator like Suno. The goal is to turn your lyrics into a full song with vocals and instrumentation.
In your AI music tool, be sure to use **"Custom Mode"** so you can paste in your own lyrics. Then, provide a separate, descriptive prompt for the style of music.
Music Style Prompt Example: "A dramatic, high-energy hip-hop Broadway musical number with a confident male rapper. The style is inspired by the show Hamilton, with a driving beat, orchestral strings, and a dynamic arrangement."
Finally, give your song a title and hit "Create." The AI will generate two unique versions for you.
Step 3: Listen & Iterate
Listen to the generated versions and pick your favorite. If you want to make changes, you can go back and tweak the "Style of Music" prompt to experiment with different singers, instruments, or arrangements.
