Your Job:

You are a quality control operator at a bottling plant. Your job is to monitor the fill level of the bottles on a control chart.

- IGNORE "Common Cause" variation (the normal random bounces).
- STOP THE LINE if you see "Assignable Cause" variation (a real problem!).

How to Spot a Problem (Chapter 13):

• 1. One Point Outside: A single point is above the UCL or below the LCL.
• 2. A "Run": 5 or more points in a row are all on the same side of the Center Line.
• 3. A "Trend": 5 or more points are all moving in the same direction (up or down).

Performance Review:

You did great. You caught 2 out of 3 signals and only had 1 false alarm.
